Tooth

A hard-tissue organ in the oral cavity responsible for the chewing function of cutting and crushing food, as well as pronunciation and aesthetics.

Adults usually have 32 teeth, including the wisdom teeth, and from the outside inward they consist of enamel, dentin, and pulp. A tooth is divided into the crown, which is exposed above the gums, and the root, which is embedded in the jawbone.
